Founder, Executive Director

Marie D Corbin, MSNc PMHNPc, RN is the founder and Executive Director of Project Heal of Santa Barbara County (PHOSBC). Established in 2014 in beautiful Santa Barbara, PHOSBC was created to empower those living with mental health challenges along with the stigmas that surround these misunderstood and sometimes complicated health conditions.

Marie received her Associates in Nursing Science degree from Mount Saint Mary’s University in Los Angeles, CA. in 1998. She went on to pursue her Bachelors in Nursing degree from Loyola University New Orleans in 2014 where she continues her pursuit in Advance Nursing practice as a Master’s prepared Clinician in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) specialty.

PHOSBC believes social labels and stigmas are the biggest barriers to better and improved mental health outcomes and their mandate is to empower the community by creating evidenced-based mental and chronic health literacy awareness programs and projects. PHOSBC has exclusively collaborated with community partners, as well as local, state and national universities and other organization partnerships. They strive to improve self-care principles for their members by utilizing the power of Integrative Medicine, Psychotherapy and Expressive Arts.

During the Covid 19 pandemic their response to help others includes: Virtual Internship opportunities, Care Management Support, Evidence-Based Support Groups with Tele-Mental Chats, Social Isolation Prevention services, Local, Regional, National Referrals and Resources for our members.

Marie has been a proud and active Workzones Ambassador & Member since 2017.
